This inn dates back to 1716 and it is believed to be haunted by a woman named Jerusha Howe. She is said to linger the most in Rooms 7 and 9. Rumor says she was unlucky when it came to love, and that is why she likes to touch the men that visit here. A book was written about the inn in the 1860s, titled "Tales of a Wayside Inn" by Author Henry W. Longfellow.
