New themes, great for all ages, better than last year. Lions club folks keep raising the bar and what is best money goes totally to charity both local and regional. Way to go Lions Grafton

  • Once Again an Outstanding Ride

We have attended all four years of this ride. This year we were not disappointed. As a matter of fact it was better than ever. It started with the haunted tunnel and then the amazing dancers and DJ playing all the latest music while we waited in line. It's hard to imagine that this ride is put together by all volunteers. Grafton Lions you rock!

  • We were thoroughly entertained!

I was amazed at how an all volunteer hayride was so professionally done. From the make-up, scene production and energetic actors to the lighting, this hayride was very well done. We were thoroughly entertained while waiting in line to get on the ride. After buying our tickets a ticket booth resembling a movie theater booth complete with movie posters, we entered a tunnel complete with lurking zombies and jumping spiders. After exiting the tunnel we entered the line area were we found a refreshment stand, "Line Zombies", zombie waitresses who did a dance routine every half hour, a large movie screen showing previews of coming attractions and a professional sound system playing all the Halloween classics. It made the one hour wait to get on one of the three carts fly by. Once on the cart, there was a narrator dressed as an usher who told a story at each scene. There was also a sound system on each cart playing the movie music from each scene. All this for only $10. I can't wait to see what they do next year!

  • Great Family event!

We took our 9 and 7 year old children for the first time this year. I was blown away on how elaborate the haunted hay ride was. It looked professional! The sound in the hay ride was great and I loved our tour guide. It was a little bit scary, but both kids handled it fine. Can't wait to go back!

  • So great!!

My family and myself went to this hayride last year and we were blow away that we couldn't wait to come back this year! The Lions Club volunteers really did amazing last night! We loved the ticket booth to get the feeling for this year's theme, drive in of terror. Walking through the tunnel kick started our "fight or flight" nerves and the actor dressed in black, lying on the ground pretending to be a prop in the tunnel scared the heebee jeebees into us, which really got us pumped for the ride! The dead waitresses were amazing and their dancing was so impressive! We loved the movie screen playing the movies from our youth and telling our kids about each movie that scared us when we were kids! The kids especially loved Slender man walking around and the zombie texting and driving girl was great, especially with the kids having to be reminded that it's dangerous to text and drive! JASON! Oh my god, he was great! And all the scenes were perfect! LOVE the concession stand! What's the movies without one!!!!! All in all, we had a blast and Lions, you never cease to amaze us! We can't wait to see what you have in store for next year!!!! Keep up the great haunting work!!!

  • A good scare for a good cause!

This charity event was well thought out and executed perfectly. As you go thru each scene, the details and script are well done. Each wagon ride has a storyteller to set the scene and tell the story of the Lost Island Asylum. Especially liked the cornfield "come to life" scarecrows and the scarecrow on stilts. Scenes were well illuminated, yet maintained that eerie, spooky feel. The actors were well costumed and rehearsed. The only downside were the long lines to get on the wagons. This Grafton Lions Club event has become extremely popular with families and is a bargain to boot! Highly recommend!

  • An awesome evening...

I was honored to be a volunteer haunter this year. The Lions Club did an awesome job. The first night, I was the confused soldier, & the second night, I was the crazy "famous Rock Star". We had to stay late both nights because of the overwhelming crowds, & it was so much fun !

  • Awesome

Very scary great for the whole family. All the different scenes are so different from each other.. Going from poopie Pattie then the corn field is so scary, she really stinks. That tall scare crow is great. The chains omg scary and the make up unbelievable (make up artist awesome)then the light up ghost great idea. Then you got the crazy guy calling my name freaky. Just great. Can't wait till next yr. Great job!!

  • WOW

Absolutely loved this hayride. It was so meticulously put together with a narrator telling you the story of each scene. The actors were great. This was my second year and it was better than the first. Kudos to The Grafton Lions Club and all the actors. I cannot wait for next year to see what they have up their sleeves. Can't beat the $10. admission and it was better than some other more expensive haunts.

  • Great event

Great event well organized with tons of scary excitement. It's nice to know that all of the actors and crew volunteered no one on the whole event was paid. A great opportunity for a number of different civic organizations. It was great to see three Boy Scout troops and a venture crew involved. I would highly recommend this ride for next year

  • Scary fun

Great ride, worth the wait. Ride is about 15 min long. It tells a whole story about crazy people stuck in an old abandoned asylum. They have the jilted bride, shock therapy, demented doctors, nurses and patients, zombies, children of the corn, ghosts, open graves, scary chain saws, etc. Lots of screaming and great fun. Definitely recommend.

  • Well Done

This production IS FOR KIDS!! Not scary at all. Waited 2 hours for the ride and while, it was very well put together and a lot of hard work went into the hayride, this was not "date night" appropriate. Bummer. Parents do bring your kids and get there early!! Your family will love it! Couples, pick another venue!

  • crazy

Not just a hayride....they give you whole story to go along with every part. Actors come up to side of truck, lots of screaming, chain saws, the whole package. Very well done.

  • Best Hayride Ever

Even better than ever! Everything has so well done, the make up was awesome! I wonder how they got those faces to look like they were peeling off! It was a great ride, and the place had such a fantastic atmosphere. I hope they do it again next year!

  • Spooktacular Hayride!

I'm from a neighboring town and found out about this hayride on this website. Went with my fiance last night (10.24.14) - couldn't have been more satisfied! For $10 ($9 with a student ID) you can't go wrong. I was thoroughly surprised as this was a production of the Grafton Lions Club which you'd normally think would be a small 5 minute ride, nothing too special as this isn't done by professional haunters like most Halloween attractions. This was extremely well coordinated - including a snack bar (everything's $1), while you wait in line there are several people dressed in costume (skeletons and a Tor Johnson-esque zombie) that linger around and interact with you. They also play Halloween themed music while you wait on a sweet Peavey speaker. Once the ride gets started it's 20 minutes of a well choreographed and detailed experience including someone on the tractor with you speaking a scripted commentary that fits the ride perfectly. Whomever planned this ride showed serious talent and passion creating the set pieces and costumes. When most haunted attractions are in the upper $20+ range it's great to have this inexpensive gem so close to home. I'm looking forward to it again next year!
